Michael Cooper
Well-known for his sensuous animal and human forms in stone and bronze, Cooper took part in an expedition to Karamoja, Eastern Uganda, in 2011 to find the last remaining Tepeth stone-carvers. Supported by the Ruwenzori Sculpture Foundation, the expedition and following workshop inspired Cooper to create a series of carvings in marble and soapstone, several of which are on show in the gallery.
